Your instructor for this event is Senior NFPA Instructor Jim Lathrop. Jim worked almost 20 years with NFPA with most of his time as Chief Life Safety Engineer. He is currently chair of the NFPA 101 Technical Committee on Means of Egress and of the NFPA 99 Piping Committee. He is also a member of the NFPA 1 Technical Committee and a member of several other NFPA 99 and NFPA 101 committees. He is active with ASTM E-5. He has made numerous presentations at NFPA meetings and has taught NFPA 101 seminars for NFPA for over 30 years. Jim also serves as Assistant Chief of the Niantic (CT) Fire Department, where he has been a member since 1964.

Explain suites, what they are, what are their benefits, and what are some of the major changes in suite between the 2000 and 2012 editions of NFPA 101.
What are some of the major changes coming up at the technical session of the NFPA C&E with regard to NFPA 101's application to health care occupancies."
